Eric Hamilton of the baseball team was named the Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 5.
On Saturday, the team swept both ends of a doubleheader -- 5-3 and 7-4 -- versus Christopher Newport University. During both games, Hamilton went 2-for-5 with three runs scored and a RBI. He also walked two times and stole one base.
In the first game -- a 10-4 win -- of Sunday’s doubleheader against Virginia Wesleyan, the Liverpool, N.Y. native, recorded a career-high five hits (four singles and a double) in five at bats. He also led the team in runs scored (3) and tied for the team-high in RBI (2). In game two's 7-6 win in extra innings against Virginia Wesleyan, Hamilton tallied two runs scored and a walk.
Men’s baseball will return to action at 9 a.m. on Saturday as the team will face the Montclair State in Auburndale, Fla. for doubleheader action.
