Eli Holton of the baseball team was named the Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 23.
The junior outfielder started all five games during the week, going 6-for-14 (.429) at the plate, while drawing three walks (.529 on-base percentage).
During Saturday’s 8-5 game one win against No. 4/5 Cortland, Holton had his best game of the week going a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate with two walks. His first hit of the day was a solo homerun in the second inning to pull the Lakers back within a run at 2-1. Two innings later, the Hancock, N.Y. native hit an RBI-double to center field, which again pulled the Lakers within a run. He finished the day with two RBI and two runs scored.
Holton totaled two doubles and two homeruns on the week, driving in five runners and scoring four times. He also had a 1.000 slugging percentage.
Baseball will return to action at 2 p.m. on Tuesday as the team will host the Bombers of Ithaca at Laker Baseball Field.
