Colin Greenseich of the men’s cross country team was named Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sept. 17. Greenseich claimed the top-place finish at home, as Oswego hosted the Don Masterson Men's 8K on Saturday. He turned in a 26:25.2, to seal his first-ever first place finish on the cross country circuit. The two-sport athlete also boasts two-first place finishes in track and field long-distance events.
He posted his career-best 8K time of 25:33.7 at the NCAA Division III Atlantic Region Cross Country Championships last season, placing 47th out of 303 runners.
Greenseich’s teammates did not trail far behind, as two placed within the top 10. Tim Olmstead claimed fifth place with a time of 26:41.1, while Andy Boyce took eighth with a time if 27:08.2.
Oswego will return to action on Friday, Sept. 29, as it travels to Lehigh University for the Paul Short Invitational.
