OSWEGO, N.Y. -- Brandan Gartland of the men's basketball team has been named Oswego State's Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Dec. 17, 2017. 

Gartland scored a career-high 20 points in the Lakers' 100-63 victory at St. Lawrence University on Friday. In what proved to be head coach Jason Leone's 200th career victory, Oswego netted 19 3-pointers, four coming from the sophomore. Overall, Gartland did not miss a single shot from the field, going a perfect 8-for-8 from the floor, including 4-for-4 from deep. The Webster, N.Y. native grabbed four rebounds in the outing - including three off the offensive glass - and distributed two assists. 

Oswego and Gartland are now on winter break until they return to action at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 29 to face SUNY Canton in the first contest of the Utica College Tournament.
