OSWEGO, N.Y. -- Yaijaira Ramos -- of the women's track and field team -- was named Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Dec. 2. 

In the first event of the season, Ramos ran away with the win and posted a career-best time of 19:47.67 during the 5000-meter run in Saturday's Brockport Gold vs. Green Alumni Invitational. She picked up the win convincingly, by over five seconds to the runner-up.  

Ramos and the Lakers are set to compete again in Thursday's RIT Early Season Invitational at 4 p.m.
