OSWEGO, N.Y. – Tanner Spink – of the No. 6/7 men’s ice hockey team – was named Oswego State Co-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 6.
Spink was instrumental in the Lakers' 6-2 defeat of SUNY Canton on Saturday, helping the Lakers to claim their eighth Pathfinder Bank/Oswego State Hockey Classic. The sophomore recorded two power play goals in the first period, the latter of which, was the game-winner.
Spink also recorded an assist on teammate Mitch Emerson's tally in the second period. For his efforts, the Williamstown, Ont. native was named the All-Tournament Most Valuable Player.
Spink and the Lakers return to action at 7 p.m. on Tuesday as they face off against Nazareth College at Allyn Ice Arena in Skaneatles in support of Griffin’s Guardians.
