OSWEGO, N.Y. – Brandan Gartland – of the men’s basketball team – was named the Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 20.

Gartland helped the Lakers to a pair of wins last week, including a big win over No. 15 Plattsburgh and hitting the game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer to propel Oswego past Oneonta on the road.  The junior guard averaged 16.5 points, five rebounds and four assists while shooting a ridiculous 75% from the field and 57% from distance in the victories.

The Webster, N.Y. native is currently second on the team in scoring average (12.9/gm), assists (32) and steals (17) while helping the Lakers to a 13-2 overall record and unblemished mark of 8-0 in the SUNYAC.

Gartland and the Lakers are home Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. to take on the Potsdam Bears.
