OSWEGO, N.Y. – Troy Seymour – of the wrestling team - was named Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 3.

Seymour’s performance at the 33^rd John Summa Memorial Invitational Tournament, hosted by Baldwin Wallace University, highlighted a sixth place finish for the Lakers.

The Morrisonville, N.Y. native won his three bout in the 174 division with ease, winning major decisions against both Carlos Lopez of Wabash College (11-2) and Waynesburg University’s Anthony Welsh (9-1.) He also shutout Brockport’s Casey Provost.

The senior ultimately lost in the final, to fifth ranked Connor Craig of Division II Wheeling Jesuit. However, his success earned him his second Male Athlete of the Week honor.

Seymour and the Lakers host the Oneonta Red Dragons for Senior Day at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
