OSWEGO, N.Y. – Shannon Stone – of the volleyball team – was named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 20.

The senior middle hitter helped the Lakers clinch a SUNYAC playoff spot in a pair sweeps at Buffalo State and Fredonia this past weekend.

The Westerlo, N.Y. native hit .455 on the weekend and recorded eight blocks in six sets of work.  Against conference opposition, Stone currently ranks third in the SUNYAC at 1.00 blocks/set and fronts a defense that is first in digs (19.85/set) and second in blocks (1.92/set).

Stone and the Lakers return to action at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in a non-conference matchup at home versus Wells College.
