Ryan averaged 22.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3 steals in Oswego State’s two games over the weekend. On Friday, the Laker forward scored a team leading 17 points, connecting on 7 of 11 free throws as Oswego State lost to Hamilton College 68-61. On Saturday against Farmingdale, Ryan managed to score 28 points and hauled in 14 rebounds. On the defensive end of the court, the Laker freshman held Farmingdale’s leading scorer to only 14 points as the Lakers dropped a 66-57 decision to the host Rams.
Oswego State coach Tracy Bruno commented, “Kayla is playing huge for us as a freshman. She has tremendous focus on the offensive and defensive end of the floor. She is a great athlete and an incredible worker!”
Ryan is the daughter of Pete and Linda Ryan of Schaghticoke.
