OSWEGO, N.Y. – The department of Oswego State Athletics has announced their March Athletes of the Month sponsored by Oswego Health. Jeremiah Sparks of the Men’s Basketball team and Sela Wiley of the Women’s Lacrosse team have been selected as the Oswego Health Athletes of the Month for the Month of March.
Sela Wiley continued where she left last year into the month of March for the Women’s Lacrosse squad. Wiley has continued to be a threat to Laker opponents. Wiley compiled 27 goals, 26 assists and 53 total points. These points were collected in nine games and in that span the Lakers went 7-2. In five games this season, Wiley has had five or more points, including a ten-point performance against Grove City College on March 18th.
In eight of nine games this past month, Wiley has collected 41 draw controls, caused 21 turnovers, scooped up 47 ground balls and has 69 total shots.
Wiley is currently as of April 1st, six goals away from 100 career goals. Wiley is already on pace for beating her career high in goals, assists, shots, shot percentage, shots on goal, game winning goals, player up goals, ground balls, caused turnovers and draw controls.
Wiley leads the conference in assists, points and shots as she looks to continue her dominance down the stretch of the most important part of the season.
Oswego is still bound to faceoff against, SUNY Brockport, Plattsburgh State, Buffalo State, Oneonta and SUNY Cortland to finish off the regular season.
