Oneonta State junior Ryan Higgins won the final bout of the dual meet at 165 pounds by a score of 12-1 to lift the Red Dragons to a 26-22 victory Saturday afternoon against Oswego. 

Higgins' win by major decision earned Oneonta four team points that proved to be the decisive margin in the meet. Oneonta is now 12-4 overall on the season while Oswego State, who entered as #23 in the latest Division III poll, falls to 5-5-1.

The Lakers earned decision wins at 184 and 197 pounds. Sophomore Ron Williams defeated Oneonta freshman Mike Hamilton 6-1 at 184 pounds. Junior Matt Gough defeated Oneonta junior James Murray 6-2 at 197 pounds.
   
Senior John Spinner and freshman Joe Jewett won by pin at 125 and 133 pounds respectively for Oswego State. Spinner pinned Jeff Dascoli in 2:10 and Jewett flattened Bogdan Szurant in 4:34.

The eighth and ninth matches leading to the finale were both major decisions to keep the meet deadlocked. Oswego State junior Dane LaPlante won 12-3 at 149 pounds.

The Lakers are home on Wednesday, Feb. 1, against Cortland. The meet begins at 7 p.m. in Max Ziel Gymnasium at Laker Hall.
