Ithaca, NY - The Lakers men's wrestling team kicked off their season this Friday at the Ithaca College Invitational in Ithaca, NY.

How it Happened
 
At 197lbs, Avery Canzano opened with a bye and then a Tech Fall win over his Castleton opponent (17-2). Tomorrow he will be in the quarterfinals.  At 174lbs, Jayden Kiell opened with a win by decision over Gavin Gomes and went on to defeat a Castleton opponent by fall which places him in the quarterfinals tomorrow as well.
 
At 141lbs, Cal Ehrmann started his Lakers career with a win over Castleton by Fall. After falling to an Ithaca opponent, Ehrmann rolled and earned three wins in a row, 2 by fall and one by tech fall. He finished with a 4-1 record on the day and will be in the consolation round 5 tomorrow.
 
At 165lbs, Collin Monell won his first match by fall over Lycoming. After dropping a tough one to Castleton he rebounded with a win over Castleton and will be in action tomorrow in the consolation round 3 against Norwich.
 
After an opening loss, James Sturek (184lbs) earned a major decision win over his next opponent and will take on John Bostian from Ithaca tomorrow in the consolation round 3.
 
At 125lbs, Juan Roque suffered a loss in his first match of the day by decision but went on to earn impressive back-to-back wins by fall. He will be in action tomorrow in the consolation round 5 against an opponent from Emmanuel.
 
At 157lbs, Kris Mihalitsas won is opening match over Lycoming by fall as well as a win by fall over a Springfield opponent. He suffered a loss to an Ithaca opponent but quickly rebounded over another Lycoming opponent with a 9-8 decision. He will be in action tomorrow in the consolation round 5 against an opponent from Nassau.
 
At 165lbs, Michael Rodriquez won his first match by decision, 4-1 over Castleton. He suffered a loss to a Cortland opponent but defeated teammate Chris Coleman in consolation round 2 to move on to consolation round 3 tomorrow and face an opponent from Springfield.
 
Orion Ruddy will be in action tomorrow at 197lbs after falling in his first match to Castleton, he will be in consolation round 3 tomorrow.
 
Ramon Colon (197lbs) rebounded nicely after suffering a loss by fall in his season opener, he earned a win by fall for himself over Springfield and will be in the consolation round 3 tomorrow.
 
Titus Callahan (197lbs) won his first match as a Laker by fall. Unfortunately, in his next match he fell to Cortland and will be in the consolation round 3 tomorrow against teammate Ramon Colon.
