Late goals for St. Olaf beat Oswego State

St. Olaf scored two goals late in the third period and defeated Oswego State 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Campus Center Ice Arena in Oswego.

Tessa Christensen scored with 6:12 remaining to put the Oles up 2-1, and Lindsay Boeser added an insurance goal with 4:57 left in the game.

Oswego State took a 1-0 lead in the first period, when Jessica Lister blocked a shot in the defensive zone, the puck squirted loose to Jessica O'Grady, who passed up ice and found Lister alone for a breakaway. Her shot beat St. Olaf goalie Sarah Mills. It was Lister's sixth goal of the year.

The Oles tied it in the second period, just after an Oswego State penalty expired. Kayla Hill scored the goal, assisted by Christensen and Katie Bennett.

Laker goalie Erin Robson made 32 saves, while Mills stopped 24 shots for St. Olaf.

St. Olaf is now 8-6-1 on the year, while Oswego State is 6-7-2. The teams meet again on Monday night at 7 p.m.
