The Oswego State volleyball team lost all four of its matches during the Union College Invitational this weekend in Schenctady.
On Saturday, Oswego State lost to the host Union Dutchwomen 30-21, 30-11, 30-27 and then to Russell Sage College by scores of 15-30, 30-24, 30-27, 30-27. Heidi Armstrong was named to the all-tournament team. It is the third time this year, in three invitationals that Oswego State has competed, that Armstrong was named to the all-tournament team.
In the loss to Union, Armstrong led the Lakers with 14 kills, two digs and a block. Kristen Allen added five kills, an ace, six digs and a block, while Amanda McManus collected 23 assists, three digs, a kill and a block.
The second match against Russell Sage saw Armstrong lead the Lakers with 26 kills, 19 digs and a block. Kristen Allen had seven kills, 15 digs and five blocks, while Kim Hayes added nine kills, 17 digs and three aces. Amanda McManus collected 46 assists and 14 digs.
In Friday's action, the Lakers lost both matches in four games. Plattsburgh beat the Lakers 22-30, 30-15, 30-19, 30-27 and Utica avenged an earlier loss to Oswego State by scores of 30-28, 30-21, 15-30, 30-25.
