The Oswego State women's tennis team rallied for an exciting 5-4 win at Cortland on Tuesday.
The Lakers trailed 2-1 after doubles play, with the third doubles team of Giana Marchese and Christine Burkhart coming through with an 8-6 win to get Oswego State on the board.
Oswego State then won two of the first four completed singles matches. Victories were earned by Brigid McCarthy at second singles and Giana Marchese at fifth singles. At that point, Cortland had won four of the seven points, with two matches still being played.
The Lakers won both of those matches, as Michele Giorlando finished off her opponent with a 7-5, 6-3 win. Oswego State's sixth singles player, Victoria Kulczak won the first set 6-4 and trailed 5-2 in the second set, before winning the last five games to win the set 7-5 and the meet-deciding match.
Oswego State is now 4-4 in dual meets this year and 2-2 against SUNYAC opponents.
