The Oswego State volleyball team defeated Elmira in three games, winning by scores of 30-18, 30-26, 30-20 on the opening night of the Oswego Quad Meet at Max Ziel Gymnasium in Laker Hall at Oswego. In the other match, St. Lawrence defeated Hamilton in three games by scores of 30-21, 30-28, 30-27.
The Lakers were led by Heidi Armstrong and Kim Hayes. Armstrong had 15 kills, three aces, seven digs, and four blocks. Hayes had 14 kills and 11 digs. Setter Amanda McManus had 31 assists and added three kills and two blocks. Libero Amanda Cipriano had 17 digs, two assists, and an ace. Oswego State is now 7-13 on the season.
Action continues on Saturday at Max Ziel Gymnasium. In the 11 a.m. matches Oswego State faces St. Lawrence and Hamilton takes on Elmira. At 1 p.m., Oswego State and Hamilton will play and St. Lawrence and Elmira will compete on the adjacent court.
