The Oswego State women's tennis team defeated Fredonia 8-1 on Saturday in Oswego. The Lakers won all positions other than first singles and improved to 5-4 in dual-matches this year. With five wins, the Lakers have already surpassed last year's win total.
Double-winners for the Lakers were Giana Marchese at third doubles and fifth singles, and Brigid McCarthy and Michele Giorlando, who teamed up to win at first doubles by an 8-0 score. At third singles, Giorlando split the first two sets against Fredonia's Sierra Summerville and won a proset tiebreaker 10-7 to earn the victory.
