The Oswego State wrestling team lost 26-12 at Oneonta on Saturday afternoon.

Oswego State's three winners today were junior Derrick Smith by decision at 141 pounds, freshman Cameron Mills by pin at 165, and Ron Williams by decision at 197 lbs.

The featured match of the day was at 285 between Oneonta State senior Trevor Hiffa and Oswego State senior Jake Taylor. Hiffa entered the match as the top-ranked wrestler in Div. III while Taylor came in at No. 7.

Hiffa entered the third period of the match ahead 3-0 and started the third period with another takedown to go up 5-0.  Taylor reversed Hiffa and appeared to have Hiffa caught on his back, but Hiffa was able to get to his stomach to avert further damage.  Taylor reversed Hiffa one more time later in the period, but it was too late as Hiffa took a 7-4 decision.

Oswego State is now 1-8-1 in dual meets this season. The Lakers host Cortland on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
