The Oswego State women's tennis team dropped its season opening match in a 6-3 decision to St. John Fisher College on Thursday afternoon on the Onondaga Tennis Courts. It was the opening match of the season for both teams and the debut of Oswego interim head coach
Erin Skaradek.
The Lakers took one of three matches in doubles play, with the team of Tiarra Garrow and Christine Burkhardt defeating Katie Barlow and Laura Hale of Fisher, 9-8. Garrow also won her match at first singles, defeating Hale in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1. Sarahjean Mahorne accounted for the third point for Oswego, defeating Sarah Zarzeczny of Fisher, 6-0, 6-0.
Oswego takes to the road on Friday, Sept. 5 to face Oneonta State in SUNYAC play at 4:00 p.m.
