Emily Grippin (Ithaca) scored the game's opening goal 5:17 into the first period and sophomore goaltender
Emi Williams (Anchorage, AK) stopped 39 shots, but Utica College tallied power-play goals in the first and second periods, and scored an insurance goal in the third to come away with a 3-1 victory in the second-game of the two-game ECAC Women's West division series on Saturday, Feb. 7 at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.
The Pioneers (11-8-2, 7-7-1 ECAC West) move into fourth place in the standings, while the Lakers (8-11-1, 5-8-1 ECAC West) own the sixth spot with 11 points, with Buffalo State, Chatham College, and SUNY Potsdam all three points behind in a tie for seventh.
Utica finished 2-for-7 on the power play, while Oswego could not convert on its eight power-play opportunities.
The Lakers return to the Campus Center Ice Arena for a two-game series with Elmira College on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 13-14. Friday's contest is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start while the second game, which will be video streamed over the internet, will begin at 3 p.m.
