The Oswego State volleyball team lost four matches in the final round of SUNYAC Pool Play for the 2010 season. The Lakers dropped contests to Buffalo State and Brockport by identical 3-1 scores Friday and were swept by Geneseo and Fredonia Saturday at Max Ziel Gymnasium. Oswego State closed out the year with a 0-8 mark in the league standings and fell to 9-20 overall, and will close out the schedule Tuesday at Morrisville for a 7 p.m. contest.
The Lakers opened Pool Play with a 25-23 first set victory over Buffalo State before dropping the next three sets by the scores of 25-20, 25-20, and 25-18.

Rachel Rossi posted five service aces, while
Liz Crouch tallied three and
Stephany Olsheski had two, in addition to handing out 30 assists. Crouch and van Kessel recorded 27 and 22 digs, respectively.
In the nightcap, the Lakers posted a hard-fought 27-25 win to take a 1-0 lead, but Brockport bounced back to win the next three sets, 25-9, 25-20, and 25-10. van Kessel had the hot hand in the match with eight kills.
Chelsea Crump and Isgro also contributed seven kills apiece. Olsheski compiled 26 assists in the losing effort. Crouch was the only defensive player in double-digits with 10 digs.
Oswego State was unable to shake off the sluggish start on Friday as it was swept by Geneseo, 25-12, 25-22, and 25-18, Saturday morning. Isgro again led the way with seven kills as Olsheski dished out 19 assists. Crouch posted seven digs and two service aces in the loss.
The Lakers also fell to Fredonia in three sets by the scores of 25-17, 25-13, 25-18. van Kessel and Isgro combined for 13 kills with Isgro adding two service aces. Crouch paced the backrow with eight digs, while Olsheski compiled 11 assists.
