The Oswego State volleyball team quickly won the first set 25-16 against Hartwick before prevailing in four sets (25-16, 23-25, 25-23, 25-14) to pick up its first win of the season at the Hartwick Invitational.  The Lakers dropped their final match of the weekend to Kean 3-0 (19-25, 17-25, 19-25) to finish at 1-3 overall. 

Oswego State's offense hit its stride versus Hartwick as three players reached double-digit kills.  Katie van Kessel (Jr., Millbrook, N.Y.) led the way with 14 kills and finished the match with a strong .333 hitting percentage to go along with 15 digs.  Jess Isgro (Sr., Brockport, N.Y.) and Sabrina Sutton (Fr., Fulton, N.Y.) each compiled 11 kills, while Stephany Olsheski (So., Brockport, N.Y.) amassed 40 assists.  Liz Crouch (Sr., Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) matched Isgro with 16 digs each.  

Against Kean, van Kessel again paced the offense with seven kills and contributed nine digs.  Isgro followed closely behind with six kills as Olsheski dished out 17 assists.  Crouch also added nine digs in the losing effort.

At the end of the tournament, Isgro was named to the all-tournament squad for her efforts.

The Lakers return to the court next Friday and Saturday when they participate in the Potsdam/Victory Promotions Invitational.
