The Laker women's team fell in its conference opener versus New Paltz 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Romney Tennis Courts in Oswego. Oswego State's No. 1 doubles team of
Lauren MacHose and
Nicole Leader battled against the Hawks' Stephanie Schara and Lindsey Garyn, but fell just short in an 8-4 decision, which proved to be the closest match of the day. The Lakers moved to 0-1 overall and in SUNYAC play, while New Paltz went to 1-0 overall and 1-0 in the league.
Oswego State travels to Fredonia this weekend for SUNYAC pool play with matches against Fredonia, Brockport, and Geneseo.
