The Oswego State volleyball team started the first day of conference pool play with a pair of losses to Brockport and Geneseo in straight sets at Buffalo on Friday evening.  The Lakers fell to the Golden Eagles by the score of 25-20, 25-14, 25-18, and to the Blue Knights by the result of 25-14, 25-17, 25-14.  Oswego State (3-10 overall, 0-2 SUNYAC) will look to get into the SUNYAC win column on Saturday when it faces Fredonia and host Buffalo State.

In the night's first match, Stephanie Baileyled the Laker offense with four kills to go along with two solo blocks and two block assists.  Kara Michelsen distributed nine assists and recorded three service aces, while Samantha Manicone added 15 digs as the libero and Meaghan Puff recorded 11 digs.

Against Geneseo, Oswego State struggled to get the offense going as Puff and Bailey combined for seven of the Lakers' 13 kills.  Michelsen finished with nine assists with Manicone posting 12 digs.
