The Oswego State women's tennis team suffered a pair of losses on Saturday at the Romney Tennis Courts, falling, 5-4, to Alfred before suffering a 9-0 setback at the hands of Oneonta. The Lakers drop to 1-7 on the season with the losses, while the Saxons improve to 3-7 and the Red Dragons move to 7-2.

The Lakers put up a fight in doubles action against Alfred, with the No. 1 doubles pair of Emma Baker and Rachel Rigney and the No. 3 doubles tandem of Lauren Stall (Fr., Williamsville, N.Y.) and Hannah Rawlings (Fr., Ithaca, N.Y.) each falling, 8-5. Oswego State won flights four through six of singles, with Rigney, Stall and Christine Ripple (Sr., Johnstown, N.Y.) all earning victories.

Oneonta won at each position en route to a 9-0 triumph. In doubles play, Kelly Corwin (Jr., Rochester, N.Y.) and Olivia Knierman (Fr., Fulton, N.Y.) provided the greatest challenge, losing, 8-5, at flight three. Nicole Leader (So., Baldwinsville, N.Y.) won a total of four service games in a 6-2, 6-2 loss to Danielle Browarski at No. 1 singles.

Oswego State concludes its five-match home stand on Monday, Sept. 26, when it entertains Roberts Wesleyan at 4 p.m.
