FREDONIA, N.Y. - The Oswego State volleyball team (11-14, 2-2 SUNYAC) prevailed in a tight, four-set win (25-20, 26-24, 13-25, 25-23) over Brockport in SUNYAC Pool Play to clinch its first SUNYAC playoff berth since 1996.
Sabrina Sutton (Jr., Fulton, N.Y.) had put together an all-around performance with seven kills and eight digs at outside hitter. Another Laker with a solid match was
Emily Walser (Fr., Baldwinsville, N.Y.), who tallied three kills, three service aces and seven digs. In the middle,
Stephanie Bailey (So., Scotia, N.Y.) paced the offense with 11 kills and three blocks.
Kara Michelsen (So., Lake View, N.Y.) dished out 28 assists to go along with seven digs, while
Kelsey Ihle (Sr., Clarence Center, N.Y.) came up big in the back row with 16 digs.
The Lakers face Buffalo State and Fredonia on Saturday to wrap up league pool play.
