OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State wrestling team (0-2) and the eighth-ranked Ithaca (2-0) split the first four matches, but the Lakers won only one match from that point on to lose by the score of 27-9 Saturday afternoon.
Kevin Ramkishun (So., Queens, N.Y.) opened the dual meet with a 9-4 win over Henry Beaman at 125 pounds. The Bombers responded with a 6-2 victory by Ricky Gomez against
Omar Santiago (Sr., Huntington, N.Y.) to tie the score at 3-3.
Oswego State jumped back in front following a 12-6 decision in favor of Mike Gentilcore (Jr., Rochester, N.Y.) for his ninth win of the season at 141 pounds. Ithaca's Kevin Collins and Derek Brenon won the next two bouts by the scores of 6-4 and 7-5, respectively, to put the Bombers ahead 9-6.
Senior
Blake Fisher (Seaford, N.Y.) ended the streak with a 3-0 win over Evan Connors at 165 pounds, but Ithaca went on to win the final four matches to make the final score, 27-9.
Oswego State returns to the mat on Saturday, January 5 in Rochester when RIT hosts the NY/PA Duals.
