OSWEGO, N.Y. – Senior Kelly Corwin (Rochester, N.Y.) won a convincing match at fourth singles, but the Oswego State women's tennis team (1-8, 0-3 SUNYAC) fell to Brockport (3-4, 1-1 SUNYAC), 8-1, on Monday.

At third doubles, Corwin paired with sophomore Olivia Knierman (Fulton, N.Y.) in a narrow 9-8(6) defeat. The duo led 7-6 before Knierman's serve was broken.

At second doubles, the combo of sophomores Lauren Stall (Williamsville, N.Y.) and Hannah Rawlings (Ithaca, N.Y.) also led 7-6 before falling 9-8(5). Oswego State's first doubles team also fell in doubles, giving the Golden Eagles a 3-0 lead heading into singles competition.

Corwin defeated Amy Kurmis 6-2, 6-2 in her second straight singles win, but she was the only winner for Oswego State in singles.

The Lakers are back in action Wednesday when they compete against St. John Fisher at 3:30 p.m. at Romney Tennis Courts.
