Rochester, N.Y. -- The Oswego State volleyball team fell in both of its matches on Friday night in the University of Rochester Invitational. With the losses, the Lakers fall to 2-3 on the season.
MATCH ONE BOX SCORE
The host Yellowjackets took the first match in straight-games, 25-19, 25-15, 29-27.
Stephanie Bailey led the Lakers with 11 kills in the contest while also assisting on two blocks.
Rachel Ruggaber paced the team with 18 digs as teammate
Lauren Edwards led the way with 27 assists.
Freshman
Sarah Meredith was second on the team with seven kills as was Meghan Roefs. Meredith filled the stat sheet with three digs, a tie for a team-high three aces with
Emma Moriarty and an assist.
MATCH TWO BOX SCORE
Oswego dropped the second match of the night to Skidmore 3-0 (26-24, 25-16, 25-20). Ruggaber again led the Lakers with 12 digs while Bailey was again high in the kills category, totaling 10. Edwards finished with 23 assists.
The Lakers will return to action at 11 a.m. on Saturday as they continue with the University of Rochester Invitational in a match against Hamilton. Oswego will wrap-up play in the invitational with a 1 p.m. meeting with St. John Fisher College.
