Traynor Notches Game-Winner in Double OT

POTSDAM, N.Y. – With less than a minute left in double overtime, the Oswego State women's soccer team completed a comeback as senior captain Georgia Traynor sent a corner kick in for a score at 109:03 to push the Lakers past the Bears, 3-2. The victory gives the squad a 2-0-1 record in conference action and a 5-4-1 mark on the year while Potsdam goes to 0-2-0, 4-4-1.

Oswego came back from two one-goal deficit over the course of the contest, starting with Tia Segretto in the first half. After allowing Potsdam on the board in the second minute, Segretto scored the equalizer at 31:21 in unassisted fashion, knotting the score at 1-1. The Bears tacked on another goal just over a minute later and held a 2-1 edge at the half.

Segretto again took part in the comeback, spurring the Lakers second goal at 52:49. The senior found Nicole Perniciaro for her second goal of the year to even the score at 2-2.

Neither team could find the back of the net over the final 37 minutes of regulation or the first 10-minute overtime, setting up Traynor's game-winning goal in the final minute.

Alyssa Glasshagel played the duration of the game in net for Oswego, stopping seven shots on the afternoon.

The Lakers will continue their SUNYAC weekend at 1 p.m. tomorrow when they face Plattsburgh on the road.
