Postseason Contests the Focus of this Weekend in Oswego Athletics

OSWEGO, N.Y. -- Oswego State has a busy weekend ahead as nine teams will be competing this weekend, some in postseason play while others start new campaigns. Despite all the contests, only one team will appear on campus.

Women's ice hockey will start their playoff run as the No. 3 seed at 3 p.m. on Saturday when it hosts No. 6 Buffalo State in the First Round of the ECAC West Championships. The two teams have faced each other twice in the regular season, with Oswego sweeping the Bengals.

Oswego against Buffalo State will appear on Time Warner Cable channel 325 in the local area. If a fan cannot attend the game, it will also be available at one of the following links:

The No. 4-seeded men's basketball team will compete in one of the SUNYAC Championship semifinal game against No. 1-seeded Brockport at 8.p.m. on Friday. The Lakers advanced to the semifinals after defeating the Cortland Red Dragons 69-57 on Tuesday in Max Ziel Gymnasium. Oswego faced Brockport twice in the regular season, splitting with the Golden Eagles. After traveling to Brockport in January and taking 78-64 loss, the Lakers avenged the loss with a 95-83 victory over the then-No. 14 Golden Eagles in the final week of the regular season. The loss represented Brockport's third defeat of the season and just its second loss in SUNYAC play.
