AMHERST, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's tennis team lost a tough-fought 5-4 contest to host Daemen College on Sunday afternoon. With the defeat, the Lakers fall just below .500 at 2-3 on the year.
Haley Miller and
Jill Travis grinded out the only Laker point on the doubles side of action, taking down their opponents 8-6.
The two were not done there as Miller battled again to take fourth singles 6-4, 7-5 while Travis had a slightly easier win in the fifth spot, 6-2, 6-4.
Marie Halpin gained Oswego's final point on the day at sixth singles, earning her first set 7-6 with a 7-0 win in the tiebreak before claiming victory with a convincing 6-1 triumph in the second set.
The Lakers will be back in action at 4 p.m. on Thursday when they host Cortland in SUNYAC action at the Romney Tennis Courts.
