FULL RESULTSBUFFALO N.Y. – The Oswego State men's swimming and diving team defeated Buffalo State 170-121 this Saturday afternoon. This is the first win in the new year for the team, bringing its record to 4-3 on the season.
Oswego started out strong, when
Austin Nau,
Jacob Mullett,
Sanjay Raman and Alex Kemper combined to win the 200 yard medley with a time of 1:44.44, earning Oswego 11 points. Nau continued to win points for the Lakers, placing first in the 200 yard backstroke (9pts) and second in the 100 yard back (4pts). Oswego scooped up another 13 points in the 200 yard freestyle race as
Aidan Meehan and Mullett took first and second place respectively.
Zach Gerber also had an impressive outing finishing first in the 100 yard breast stroke and second in the 100 yard freestyle.
In the distance contests,
James Dillon nabbed two first place finishes to give the team 18 points. He recorded a time of 10:49.72 in the 1000 yard freestyle and a 5:13.49 in the 500 yard freestyle.
Ben Hale took home nine points after placing first in the 1 meter dive.
Justin Berrios earned the team four points as he finished second in the 3 meter dive.
Men's swimming and diving will return to the pool at 4 p.m. on Wednesday as it hosts the Cortland Red Dragons.
