GENESEO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's soccer team fell 2-1 to Geneseo on the road Thursday night. With the loss, the Lakers move to 7-6-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the conference. Geneseo improves to 9-3-1 on the year (4-2-0 in the SUNYAC).
Oswego found itself down two goals early in the second half, despite holding the advantage in shots-on-goal. The team found a spark with
Nicole Perniciaro though, as she was able to notch one for the Lakers at the 75:03 mark.
Emma Geyer sent a ball towards the middle of the box where the junior juked a charging goalie and instepped the ball into the goal. The Lakers were unable to find the equalizer eventually falling 2-1.
The Lakers held the shots-on-goal advantage throughout the game, recording five over the Knights' three. The squad also earned three corner kicks during the contest, one more than its opponent.
Women's soccer returns to action at 1 p.m. on Saturday as the team heads to Brockport to take on the Golden Eagles.
