BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Despite a late push, the Oswego State women's soccer team fell 3-2 to Brockport on the road Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Lakers move to 2-5-1 in conference play and 7-7-1 overall. Brockport goes to 3-2-2 in the SUNYAC and 7-4-3 on the year.
Entering the second half down 1-0, the Lakers let an early goal as Brockport's Kaitlyn Niedermeier scored 7:21. Oswego was able to counter quickly though as
Mary Morrison tallied one 4:47 afterwards.
The two teams would trade goals again in the last twenty minutes of play beginning with a Golden Eagle gold at the 70:52 mark. Oswego would notch its final score 11:31 later as
Sarah Grupp converted a penalty kick.
Melissa Siegfried played all 90 minutes for the Lakers, racking up five saves in the process.
Women's soccer will return to action at 1 p.m. on Saturday as it squares off against Cortland in its last SUNYAC game of the season.
