OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State volleyball team defeated Alfred University 3-0 (25-13, 25-19, 25-22). With the win, the Lakers improve to 22-9 on the season while Alfred falls to 3-25.
All five seniors contributed to the Laker win in their final home game in green and gold, led by Rachel Ruggaber who anchored the squads defense with her 16 digs. Fellow classmate
Mary Montagnola also added a dig in the contest, and contributed in the serving game with two aces.
The other three seniors combined for 11 kills on the nights, led by
Kelsey Dillon and
Kim Cassa who each had four.
Lindsey Morehouse added three kills, and also added to her senior night by recording her first career ace.
Freshman
Ariel Murawski led the Lakers in kills on the day with 10 total. She also added two block assists, contributing to the team's total of five.
Murawski's night was a continuation of her already impressive rookie season, where she has racked up 275 kills and 46 total blocks thus far.
Volleyball returns to the court at 2 p.m. tomorrow when they square off against New Rochelle College in the first game at the SUNY Poly triangular.
