OSWEGO, N.Y. – An Andrew Barton hat trick led to an Oswego State men's hockey 5-1 victory over Morrisville Friday night at the Marano Campus Center Arena. With the win, Oswego improves to 2-3-1 both in the conference and overall. Morrisville moves to 1-6-1 on the season.

Barton began his day nabbing the second Laker goal at the 10:17 mark in the first, cashing in a rebound off of a Joey Davies shot. The Stratford, Ont. native then used a bit of acrobatics as he got tripped entering the offensive zone, manuevered back to his feet and ripped one from the high slot that beat the Mustang goalie. Barton completed the hat trick midway through the final stanza as he sniped a wrister past the goaltender's glove side. This was the first three-goal performance recorded by a Laker since Luke Moodie notched one in a 7-1 victory over Fredonia on Feb. 17, 2012.

The other two Laker goals came from Alex Botten in the first and David Ferreira in the third (Ferreira's first collegiate goal).

Andre Ignagni finished the day with 20 saves, earning his first win in a Laker uniform.

Men's hockey will now head to Morrisville to finish the home-and-home at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
