MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's hockey team shuts out Morrisville 4-0 on the road Saturday evening to complete the weekend sweep. The Lakers improve to .500 in both the conference and overall (3-3-1). Morrisville goes to 1-7-1 on the season.
It was an even game through the first period, but Oswego found its offense after that. The Lakers got things going at the 4:35 mark in the second as
Kenny Neil received an
Alex Botten pass and beat the Morrisville netminder. Later in the period, Oswego's
Shawn Hulshof converted on a power play to give the Lakers a two goal lead going into the second intermission.
Oswego would go on to tack on two more to the scoresheet late in the third, beginning with an
Alex Botten goal 2:22 to go.
Shawn Hulshof would then collect his second of the game just 56 seconds later.
Adrian Ignagni earned his first shutout as a Laker, recording 19 saves on the night.
Men's ice hockey returns to action at 4 p.m. on Friday as it takes on St. Thomas College in the first game of the Utica College Thanksgiving Showcase.
