OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State wrestling team fell 31-12 to Alfred State College Wednesday night on senior night at Max Ziel Gymnasium. Three four-year Lakers were honored including
Scott Bova,
Quamaine Thomas and
Kevin Ramkishun. The Lakers drop to 2-10 on the year while Alfred State improves to 4-9.
Tyler Silverthorn impressed at the 157-pound weight class, pinning his opponent with 27 seconds remaining in the third period. The freshman controlled most of the match, leading the dual points-wise before eventually claiming victory by downfall. Oswego's other six points were earned by forfeit at the 141-pound division.
Wrestling will hit the mats again as it travels to Cortland for a 1 p.m. dual on Sunday.
