Baseball Wins Two Against Framingham

AUBURNDALE, Fla. -- The Oswego Lakers baseball team defeated the Framingham State Rams in both games of a doubleheader Saturday at Lake Myrtle Park in Florida.

Game One: Oswego 11, Framingham 0

Oswego got on the board early with a Myles Kutscher sacrifice fly, which scored Robert Donnelly. Also in the first inning, Jordan Giller hit a RBI single scoring Eric Hamilton.

Giller finished with two hits and two walks on the day. Hamilton also contributed adding three hits and two RBI.\

Charles Arcuri (1-1) needed no more than a single run as he dominated the Framingham lineup. Arcuri finished with 10 strikeouts in five innings allowing just one hit to get the win in his first collegiate start.

Andy Stuart came on in relief to help finish off the Rams; he recorded two strikeouts and allowed two hits in two innings pitched.

The Lakers blew open the game in the fifth inning with six runs. The scoring was started by a RBI single from Eli Holton to score Kutscher. On the next at bat, Holton would come around along with Giller on a John Rauseo triple.

Rauseo collected two triples on the day and scored two runs.

Kyle Liner added a notable performance with a hit, a walk, two runs and two RBI. Dan Saccocio had a hit, a run and an RBI of his own to help the Oswego cause.

Game Two: Oswego 6, Framingham 5

Zach Kollar scored the winning run on an Alex Brown single to center field in the bottom of the seventh inning in Oswego's 6-5 victory.

Oswego continued the hot hitting from the first game by jumping on the board early in the second inning. Brown laced a single up the middle driving in both Matt Capobianco and Kutscher.

Brown finished with three hits and three RBI in the game while also scoring a run.

After hitting a single up the middle, Rauseo stole second and eventually came around to score on a pitcher error to give the Lakers a 3-0 lead in the third inning.

The Lakers rallied for three runs over the last three innings after Framingham put a five spot on the board in the fourth inning. John-Michael Guarino was huge over this span; he did not allow a hit and struck out four batters over three innings.

Giller and Saccocio each added RBI singles in the fifth and sixth innings respectively.

Kutscher had another strong performance in game two as he added two hits.

Tim Cronin allowed five runs and struck out four in the no-decision.

Oswego will head to Chain of Lakes Park in Winterhaven, Fla. on Sunday to play a doubleheader with Washington and Jefferson starting at 1:30 p.m.
