WINTERHAVEN, Fla. -- The Oswego State baseball team dropped both contests of a doubleheader to the Washington and Jefferson Presidents Sunday afternoon at Chain of Lakes Park.

Game One: Washington and Jefferson 8, Oswego 5
After a three-run homer from Washington and Jefferson, Oswego fell behind early in this contest was unable to recover.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, the Lakers attempted to make a late rally. John Rauseo hit a three-run home run of his own well over the left-center fence. The shot brought in John Barnes and Kyle Liner after they walked and doubled respectively.
Earlier in the contest, Eric Hamilton singled to left field to drive in Dan Saccocio. The hit was one of three for Hamilton who also scored on a Myles Kutscher double in the seventh.
Jordan Giller provided two hits in four at-bats.
Brendyn Karinchak was hit with the loss. He struck out five batters over five innings. Cody Laflamme provided a strong relief effort going one and two-thirds innings and surrendering just two hits while also striking out two.

Game Two: Washington and Jefferson 8, Oswego 6
The bats came alive for Oswego late in the second contest of the doubleheader, but it was not enough to overcome the deficit.
Miles Kelly was tagged for seven runs over the first three innings. Kelly also added three strikeouts.
Oswego scored four runs in their half of the fifth inning to cut the Washington & Jefferson lead in half. Zach Kollar tripled to deep right-center driving in Matt Capobianco who singled earlier. After a Saccocio out, Rauseo continued his hot hitting and crushed a double in the gap to bring home Kollar.
Kutscher hit the second Laker home run of the day with a towering shot to left-center to drive in Eric Hamilton after he reached on a fielders choice.
Kutscher recorded another big hit in the seventh inning. He doubled in the gap in right-center to score Rauseo and Saccocio. Kutscher finished with four RBI in the game.
Pat Brown provided three innings of relief, which allowed the Lakers to get close in the contest. Brown allowed four hits and one run while striking out one. The senior also picked off three Washington and Jefferson runners while on the mound.
The Lakers will return to action Monday against Hope College at Lake Myrtle Park. The first pitch is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
