AUBURNDALE, Fla. -- The Oswego State baseball team won a single contest, 12-1, with Hope College on Monday afternoon at Lake Myrtle Park.The win improves the Lakers record to 6-3 overall and 3-2 during their Spring Break trip.

A seven-run third inning proved to be too much for the Dutchmen. The Lakers batted around in the inning and registered eight hits.

John Rauseo started off the inning with a single; he would also collect another base hit in the inning to drive in Kyle Simmons. In the fifth, Rauseo doubled to collect two more RBI and finish with three hits and three RBI.

Jordan Giller doubled down the line in the third to drive in Myles Kutscher and Eric Hamilton. Giller also ripped an RBI single in the first to get the scoring started for the Lakers. The first baseman collected three RBI on the day.

Kutscher, Eli Holton and Kyle Liner all added singles in the inning. Matt Capobianco and Dan Saccocio added RBI singles.

Saccocio had two hits and three RBI; Capobianco had two hits, an RBI and scored three runs.

Robert Donnelly was huge for the Lakers on the mound. Donnelly started out the contest with 2.2 innings of no-hit ball before hitting a rough patch. After getting the final out of the third inning, Donnelly pitched three more innings of no-hit ball. The freshman finished with five strikeouts to collect his first win of the season.

Nick Isernia closed out the game for Oswego; he pitched one inning allowing one hit and struck out two.

Oswego will return to action on Wednesday for a doubleheader against Allegheny College at Chain of Lakes Park. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
