OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's tennis team fell 6-3 to Elmira College Friday evening in Romney Field House. With the loss, the Lakers move to 0-1 in the spring season and 5-10 overall. Elmira improves to 9-4 and concludes its season.
The Lakers got off to a hot start, winning two of the three doubles matches.
Lauren Stall and
Alicia Kreamer needed an extra game, but were eventually able to finish off their Soaring Eagle opponents 9-7.
Alli Ullrich and
Kelsey Wilson nabbed another point at third doubles, winning by a score of 8-6.
Oswego earned its final point at fourth singles.
Jill Travis was beating Elmira's Zueschner 5-4 in the first set before Zueschner was forced to bow out due to injury.
Women's tennis will be back on the courts at 4 p.m. on Tuesday as it heads to Alfred University to take on the Saxons.
