BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's lacrosse team dropped a 26-9 decision at Brockport on Saturday afternoon at Kennedy Shriver Stadium. With the loss, the Lakers are now 6-9 overall and 1-6 in SUNYAC action while the Golden Eagles improve to 8-5, 4-2.
It was all Oswego in the first four minutes of the contest, starting with
Emily Lange and
Miranda Czechowski both scoring in the opening minute.
Mackenzie Kjerstad added an unassisted goal at 27:02 and
Erannan Shattuck capped the four-goal spurt 59 seconds later. Brockport then took control, scoring the game's next seven goals, and 17-of-19 before halftime. Oswego's other two first-half tallies came from
Gemma O'Kane and
Esther Gabriel.
In the second half, the Lakers notched three unassisted goals, coming from Lange, Gabriel and
Morgan Kelly.
Shattuck and
Briana Kimble each finished with one assist. Lange led the Lakers with four draw controls.
Angela Ponto took the loss in net for Oswego and was relieved by
Bridget Hamlin, who made a career-high seven saves in 30 minutes of action.
Oswego will return to action at 4 p.m. on Tuesday when it wraps its regular season and conference slate with a home contest against Potsdam.
