OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's tennis team fell 8-1 to Daemen College at Romney Indoor Tennis Courts Saturday afternoon. With the loss, Oswego falls to 1-3 on the season. Daemen improves to 2-1 overall.

The Lakers lone point came in a hard fought battle at sixth singles, as Giovanna Saulle extended the match to its full potential. The sophomore took the first set 7-5 before dropping the second 2-6. In the 10-point tie break, Saulle was able to edge her opponent 10-7.

In doubles, the team was almost able to grab another point as Jill Travis and Leslie Usherwood pushed their second doubles match to extra games, but were unable to steal the victory falling 7-9.

Women's tennis will return to the courts at 4 p.m. on Monday when they travel to Utica College to take on the Pioneers.
