UTICA, N.Y. – The Oswego State woman's tennis team shuts out Utica College 9-0 on the road Monday afternoon. With the victory, Oswego moves to 2-3 on the year while the Pioneers remain winless (0-2).
Oswego began the day sweeping all three doubles matches, beginning with an 8-0 victory from
Giovanna Saulle and
Madeline Klatt at third.
Alicia Kreamer and
Alli Ullrich defeated their Pioneer opponents 8-4 at first and the team of
Leslie Usherwood and
Jill Travis earned the team's third point at second winning 8-2.
The team used the momentum gained in the doubles matches to fuel its singles. Kreamer at second, Ullrich at third and
Bianca Camillaci at fifth all won by a score of 6-1, 6-0. Usherwood didn't drop a single game at fourth singles, claiming a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
Women's tennis will return to the courts at 4 p.m. on Friday as the team will host the Oneonta Red Dragons at the Romney Outdoor Tennis Courts.
