RESULTSOSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's tennis team dropped a home contest 8-1 to Brockport Tuesday afternoon at the Romney Outdoor Tennis Courts. With the loss, Oswego drops to 2-5 on the season. The Golden Eagles improve to 6-3.
The Lakers lone win came from
Lauren Rizzo, as she defeated her opponent 6-3, 6-2 at sixth singles. This was the freshman's first collegiate victory.
Jill Travis played a tough match at first taking three games in the first set before dropping 6-1 in the second.
In doubles there were a few close battles including
Madeline Klatt and
Giovanna Saulle who pushed their match to the brink eventually falling 8-6.
Alli Ullrich and
Alicia Kreamer also stuck with their Brockport foes for a while, eventually falling 8-5.
Women's tennis will return to the courts at 4 p.m. on Friday as the team travels to Rochester, N.Y. to take on the Cardinals of St. John Fisher College.
