RESULTSROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's tennis team earns a road win as it defeated St. John Fisher College 7-2 Friday afternoon. With the win, the Lakers improve to 3-5 on the season, while the Cardinals remain winless at 0-7.
It was a quick start for the Lakers, as the team earned all three possible points at doubles, led by
Giovanna Saulle and
Madeline Klatt who took third 8-4.
Alicia Kreamer and
Alli Ullrich battled to earn their victory at first, eventually claiming it 9-7.
Jill Travis and
Leslie Usherwood earned the final doubles point winning 8-6 at second.
The squad continued to roll as Ullrich (third) and Usherwood (fourth) made light work of their oppenents, winning 6-4, 6-3 and 6-4, 6-1, respectively.
Lauren Rizzo had to battle against the Cardinal's Eileen Fleming, taking each set to extra games and winning 7-5, 7-5. Kreamer took her match the distance at second winning 4-6, 6-2, 6-0 and earning Oswego's final point.
Women's tennis returns to the courts at 12 p.m. on Saturday as it continues conference play with a home battle against Fredonia.
