RESULTSOSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's tennis team closed out its weekend with its second-straight win, this time defeating conference-foe Fredonia 5-4 at the Romney Outdoor Tennis Courts. With the win, the Lakers improve to 4-5 overall and go to 1-2 in the SUNYAC West. Fredonia falls to 3-4 on the year, 0-3 in the SUNYAC West.
Two points in doubles got the Lakers off to a good start, as the team won at first and third.

Alicia Kreamer captured first by a score of 8-5 as
Giovanna Saulle and
Lauren Rizzo earned the second point 8-6 at third.
Going into the singles, Oswego got two quick wins from Ullrich (third) and Rizzo (sixth), who won 6-0, 6-2 and 6-3, 6-2, respectively. The third point came at fourth singles, in a match that went three sets.
Leslie Usherwood narrowly won the first set 6-4 before dropping the second 6-2. The Oswego, N.Y. native was then able to secure the final set 6-2 to capture the win for the Lakers.
Women's tennis will return to the courts at 4 p.m. on Tuesday as it heads south to Elmira College.
